Building Corners

I’ve made a goal out of getting better with my 135mm lens, focusing is still a challenge. Starting with my first roll with the lens and continuing on through my last post, I have really been enjoying taking photos of the corners of buildings, I really love how up close we get to things so far away.

So I decided to take basically an entire roll of them! I also wanted to try out the new Kodacolor 100, so that’s what I did. Sunday morning, I wandered around downtown then I got brunch in the Mission and wandered a bit more, so the entire roll is from the one day. The sky was so variable!

Overall I’m really happy with the variety here, and feel like this is the beginning of an aesthetic for me, I am thinking of trying to print and frame a batch of these.

Unfortunately the focus in a few these is still a little soft. As a note to myself, I should probably just stop the aperture down more when it’s so bright out.

The Corners

Transamerica Pyramid

The Mira building

The Mira building, again with a bird

Salesforce Tower

Assorted Odds and Ends

I tried to stick to corners for the roll for consistency, but I had a few other ideas and wanted to share these out too.

The layers in this one are so fun

The beams of light were incredible, I’m glad they turned out film

Mr. Pickle

It kills me that I didn’t nail the focus on Mr. Pickle, I will need to retry!
